How many Zeros in $700 billion ?
September 28, 2008 - 12:41pm — shades of gray ...
Sad to say, but Math wasn't my best subject. But as the decimal point moves another space toward the right, when does the amount become impossible for the average human being to comprehend? The BIG news of the weekend seems to be the $700 billion dollar bailout. From what the latest news reports are saying, we are about to increase our projected national debt from $11 TRILLION to almost $12 TRILLION... (that's dollars folks) in order to TEMPORARILY avert an impending financial catastrophe caused by a combination of corporate fraud and government mismanagement. Our childen's, grandchildren's and probably great grandchildren's future is soon to be in even greater peril in order to cover up the most blatant white collar crime of our lifetime. Any thoughts?

I think that any CEO or CFO...
Back to page topI think that any CEO or CFO who got more than 200 K in the past five years should pay 75% to the U.S. Further any company that exported jobs overseas in the past ten years should be fined 10 million dollars for every year they have put our labor overseas to avoid paying thier fair share of the tax load. And if the Gov't passes this bill they should be personally forced to put the money in the pot not the taxpayer.
The really sad thing is......
Back to page topThe really sad thing is... and it's all about the Zeros again... One CEO reportedly collected $400 million dollars for one years salary, and another was paid $20 million for 17 days of "work". I'd really like to pick up an application for that guys job. Two weeks and even after 50% tax withholding I'd never hafta even think about working for the rest of my life!
