A story in Tuesday’s edition indicated that this year’s appearance at the Section swim meet was an improvement over the previous year. More than a dozen girls on the Falls High School swim team participated in the 2007 Section meet.

The Red Cross cuts local staff article printed Friday should have stated that Lisa Reller was a part time office manager for the International Falls Red Cross office.

According to Jessie Jessop, a story in Wednesday’s edition inaccurately paraphrased a statement she made at the Koochiching County Board meeting Tuesday. According to Jessop, she said: “If the petition calls for the vacation of a road that is the only means to access to property or properties containing five or more acres, the road may not be vacated without consent of the property owner. Minnesota Statue 160.09 subd. 3” She also said that she noted at the meeting that a road vacancy must be in writing and recorded.

A $90,000 financial obligation approved by the Koochiching County Board Tuesday to be paid for by the Minnesota Counties Trust Insurance was a settlement in the case Herrly v. Koochiching County. The county was named in a lawsuit that alleged that the county was negligent in investigating a case where a minor was abused, according to MCIT. The case has been settled.

A story about the purchase of the armory building in Tuesday’s edition should have said the building was dedicated in 1973 as the Koochiching Memorial U.S. Army Reserve Center.

• A story in Tuesday’s edition on a draft of the Koochiching County development ordinance should have said that, for zone AF-1, or agriculture and forestry, the minimum lot area per unit was changed from 2.5 acres to 10 acres.
• A story printed Wednesday about Maj. Gen. Michael Ennis should have stated that he received the CIA William J. Donovan medal.

A story in Wednesday’s edition about the Koochiching Economic Development Authority should have noted that a decision to hire Joe Boyle as attorney factored in costs. A proposal offered by attorney Steve Shermoen was $30 more per hour than Boyle’s proposal.

A report in Tuesday’s edition of The Daily Journal should have noted that the Renee Fuller residence was entered by an unlocked window.

Any references The Daily Journal has made to the November general election have been inaccurate. The general election will be conducted Nov. 4.

The RYC final Wednesday sailing race story on Friday should have listed the skipper of the Lyla Mari as Gary Saurer.
