Irv Anderson

Irv Anderson passed away Monday morning, Nov. 17, 2008, in Coon Rapids, from health complications.
Irv served as a leader in the union, and was first elected as a State Representative in the Minnesota State Legislature in 1964. He later served as the Majority Leader and Speaker of the House, and retired from the legislature in 2006.
Irv was a long-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion; an avid hunter, fisherman, and carpenter, and active in the DFL party and politics up until his death.


Thomas Dale Walls, 58

Thomas Dale Walls, age 58, of International Falls, Minn., died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at his home.
He was born March 28, 1950, at International Falls, to Norman and Jean Walls.
Tom lived in various parts of the country throughout his life. He was known as an amazing artist and musician.
Tom had a heart of gold and was always willing to help people in their time of need.


Pearl Lillian Brenhaug, 83

Pearl Lillian Brenhaug, 83, International Falls, Minn., passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, of heart failure at Falls Memorial Hospital, International Falls.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m.. Friday, Nov. 21, at First Lutheran Church, International Falls, with the Rev. Glenn Leaf officiating.
Burial of her cremains will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, International Falls.
Cease Family Funeral Home, Blackduck, Minn., is assisting the family with arrangements.


Thomas Walls

International Falls resident Thomas Walls died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at his home.
A complete obituary will be announced when arrangements have been completed.
Arrangements are with Green-Larsen Mortuary Inc., International Falls.


Eunice Adee-Braford, 78

Eunice Adee-Braford, of International Falls, Minn., died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at the Evergreen Terrace Care Facility, Grand Rapids, Minn. Eunice was 78 years of age.
Born Jan. 24, 1930, in International Falls, Eunice was a lifelong resident of the Falls and grew up on the Van Lynn Road. She attended school in International Falls.
She was united in marriage to Lyman Adee on Jan. 24, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1963.


Harry Walter Johnson, 101

Harry Walter Johnson, age 101, of International Falls, Minn., died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Falls Good Samaritan Center.
He was born July 19, 1907, at Hayward, Wis., to Norwegian immigrants Edward and Johana Johnson. He was the youngest of nine children.
Harry was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls, a place where his parents were charter members.
Harry moved to International Falls in 1912 and settled in Sawmill Addition, a small neighborhood just east of the city limits.


Mona (Lonergan) Acres, 82

Mona (Lonergan) Acres, 82, formerly of International Falls, passed away Nov. 4, 2008, in Tucson, Ariz., after a 10-year battle with cancer. Her strength and courage were an inspiration to all who knew her.
She married Jerry Lonergan in 1946 and together they operated Lonergans Resort on Lake Kabetogama until moving to the Falls.
She was an excellent fisherman, duck and goose hunter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, former husband Jerry Lonergan, and husband Ed Acres.


Karrol Ann Johnson, 73

Karrol Ann Johnson, of International Falls, Minn,. died late Tuesday evening, Nov. 11, 2008, in the Falls. Karrol was 73 years of age.
Born in International Falls on Sept. 23, 1935, to Margaret Francis Gish and Roy Anchor Horness, Karrol was a lifelong resident of the Falls.
She graduated from Falls High School in 1954.
On Jan. 13, 1955, she was united in marriage to Roy Johnson in Superior, Wis.


Sharon Raye Nelson, 69

Sharon Raye Nelson, of Loman, Minn., died at her home Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 11, 2008. Sharon was 69 years of age.
Born at Gary, Ind., on April 17, 1939, to Charles and Olive (Bewley) Kerr, she grew up in Hammond, Ind., and spent her summers in Deer Lake, near Effie, Minn.
She was united in marriage to James Nelson, Feb. 10, 1957, at Hammond, Ind. They moved around a lot due to James’ work but settled in Loman, Minn. in 1971.
Sharon worked at the J.C. Penny store for many years and as a nurse’s aid at Falls Memorial Hospital.


Dale C. Walquist, 55

Dale C. Walquist, age 55, of Maple Grove, Minn., passed away unexpectedly Nov. 8, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Wendy; father, Henry; sister, Sharon (John) Johnson; nieces, Katie (Mark) Vessels and Lindsay Johnson; nephew, Nick Johnson; loving dogs, Pepper and Daisy; many nieces, nephews other family and many friends.
Memorial service is set for 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Methven-Taylor Funeral Home, Anoka, Minn., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
