Myron ‘Mynie’ Konnon Haglund, 87

Myron “Mynie” Konnon Haglund, age 87, Marshfield, Wis., died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at the Marshfield Care Center.
A memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m. today, Monday, Oct. 6, at Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield. Pastor Tricia Turner officiated. Military rites were conducted at Faith Lutheran Church following the service.
Entombment took place in McMillan Memorial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family received relatives and friends at the church Monday from 10 until service time.


Kenneth Duncan MacKenzie, 50

Kenneth Duncan MacKenzie, age 50, of International Falls, Minn., died suddenly Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at his home.
He was born April 2, 1958, at Virginia, Minn. He moved to International Falls in 1988 and went to work for Bildrite.
Ken was united in marriage to the former Sandra Yvonne Baron on Sept. 2, 1989.
He presently was employed with Falls Memorial Hospital where he worked in the maintenance department. Ken was extremely proud of working for Falls Memorial Hospital; he chaired the Falls Memorial Hospital Foundation’s “Prisms” Committee.


Samuel O. Rogers

Samuel O. Rogers passed away Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at St. Mary’s Hospice, Duluth, after a courageous struggle with cancer.
Sam served in the Army from 1970 to ‘72 in Fort Riley, Kan.
Sam was a career truck driver, and loved his work. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing with his sons, and following NASCAR.


Darold Bounds, 79

Darold Bounds, age 79, of International Falls, Minn., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at Fair Oaks Lodge, Wadena, Minn.
He was born Oct. 27, 1928, to Claude and Florence (Thompson) Bounds in Bullard Township in Wadena County.
Darold went to school in Verndale and was later drafted into the service Oct. 1, 1951. He served our country in Panama.
Darold was united in marriage with Joan Johnson Sept. 8, 1956, in Tower, Minn. They were blessed with four children.


Delmer ‘Del’ Schroeder, 78

Delmer ‘Del’ Schroeder, age 78, of Embarrass, Minn., died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at his home after fighting cancer courageously with love from his family surrounding him always in all ways.
Delmer requested no services; he asked his family to gather later to celebrate his life of love.
Delmer ‘Del’ Edward Schroeder was born July 7, 1930, to Henry and Mary (Lachinski) Schroeder in Lakin Township, Minn. He was raised on a farm, attended a rural school and graduated from Milaca High School.
He married his sweetheart, Darlene Johnson in 1951.


Connie Marie (Sykes) Morey, 50

Connie Marie (Sykes) Morey, of Littlefork, Minn., passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, Minn., Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008. She was 50 years of age.
She was born Oct. 26, 1957, in Bemidji, Minn., to William and Jennette Sykes.
In 1962 she moved to International Falls and graduated from Falls High School in 1976.
She was united in marriage to Roderick Morey on Oct. 31, 2001.
Connie was employed at the Littlefork Nursing Home.
In 2000 she moved to Florida, but returned to her home in Littlefork in 2006.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennette and William Sykes. 


Gabriel Ernest Mattila, 35

Gabriel Ernest Mattila, age 35, of Fridley, Minn., passed away and completed his journey on Sept. 21, 2008, following a courageous 10-month battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Gabriel was a special agent for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), in the St. Paul, Minn., field office, in 2006. He continued to work in the field as a special agent until his diagnosis of ALLS in December 2007.


Norbert Elmore Snyder, 83

Norbert Elmore Snyder, age 83, of International Falls, Minn., died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, Minn.
He was born Feb. 20, 1925, at St. Peter, Minn., to Norbert and Elsie Snyder.
Norbert graduated from St. James High School, St. James, Minn., in 1943 and later graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., in 1950.
He enlisted in the United States Navy July 21, 1943; he was stationed in Oahu, Hawaii. While in the Navy he was a member of a medical unit and enjoyed singing in the Loblolly Naval Chorus. He was honorably discharged March 8, 1946.


Arlie Richard Braford, 83

Arlie Richard Braford, 83, of International Falls, Minn., died Monday morning, Sept. 22, 2008, at his home.
He was born Jan. 3, 1925, in International Falls and was a lifelong resident.
Arlie graduated from Falls High School in 1945.
He served in the United States Army. After serving in the military he worked for Boise Cascade in the Insulite Division as a loading inspector.
On May 4, 1991, he married Eunice (Forsythe) Adee in International Falls.
Arlie enjoyed farming, spending time outdoors and fishing.


Clayton Walfred Lind

Clayton Walfred Lind, formerly of International Falls, Minn., passed away at his daughter Donna Boyum’s residence in Burnsville, Minn., Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, following a long battle of Parkinson’s Disease.
Clayton was born to John and Hannah Lind Dec. 2, 1920.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Clayton married Shirley Holbrook Nov. 2, 1947.
He worked for Boise Cascade for 40 years. He loved to fish, hunt, go camping and just spend time with his family.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and sisters.
